Worst #Braves line-up ever

Mark this date in your calendars because the Braves have never fielded a sadder line-up. That tonight’s starters managed three runs and seven hits qualified as a minor miracle.

Erick Aybar, statistically the worst player in baseball in 2016, hit second. Thirty-nine-year-old singles hitter A.J. Pierzynski batted clean-up. Jace Peterson started in LF with Daniel Castro at 3B.

Six of the eight position players came into the game with batting averages under .200. Half of them are likely to stay there.

Don’t be fooled by the four-game winning streak. These are still the ’88 Braves, though to be fair that team never won four in a row. It’s a safe bet these Braves won’t do it again.
