Win, win, win. Gets boring, doesn’t it? That was one of Skip’s pat lines after some awful Bravos squad strung together a couple or three victories. I’m tempted to try and snag one of those Pete and Skip bobbleheads on Saturday night. But Sunday could be the more intriguing tilt.
That’s because we might get to see Aaron Blair, he of the seven no-hit innings at Gwinnett last night. On the Braves official site, Mark Bowman reports that the club demoted William S. Perez and will fill his Sunday turn with either Blair or Folty. I hope it’s Blair, who came over from the D-Backs.
As for this evening, Julio could use a good outing, as we read in this space yesterday. His opposing hurler, Ross Stripling, of course twirled 7-1/3 no-hit frames in his first big league start on April 8. Pitched well his next time out, too. As a rookie, that means he’s due for a bad start. Let’s hope that happens tonight.
Trying to see that it does with sticks in their hands for our home nine: Markakis, Aybar, Freddie, Garcia, Pierzynski, KJ 2B, Peterson LF, Mallex, Julio.
Kinda interesting that KJ is at second and Peterson in left. Wonder if it’s because Fredi prefers KJ’s glove at second, or Peterson’s in left, or he just flipped a coin.
