Braves execs seem to have little respect for our intelligence.
We’re not rebuilding, they tell us despite all evidence to the contrary and the fact most of us believe they should rebuild.
Now comes this absurd claim from the team’s VP of Operations Mike Plant:
Plant spent much of his speech at the business association meeting comparing the new stadium to Turner Field, first saying that while the Cobb site was chosen because it’s closer to the center of the team’s fan base, it’s not too far from the Atlanta location.
“I make it a point of letting people know it takes me about five more minutes to get to the site in Cobb than to get to Turner Field from south Atlanta,” Plant said.
According to Google maps, that’s a 14.5 mile drive, so even without traffic it’s a minimum 10 minutes. Maybe if you’re driving after midnight.
At 4:54 p.m., that drive will take an estimated 41 minutes, says Google.
Of course you could ride your bike, as Plant advises.
