Much has been made of this tissue-soft part of the schedule, and the need for the Braves to take advantage of it. Losing a series to the Mets won’t cut it.
We saw the Braves at their worst last night. Forget Julio’s rough outing — it happens. So do bad ABs by Brave hitters — no anomaly there. (As CD points out, why would anyone throw Chris Johnson a strike?)
They make it difficult to get excited about this team’s chances. Sure, the Bravos may sneak into the playoffs, but how are they going to fare against the likes of Wainwright and Kershaw? They have a hard enough time with Dillon Gee, pitching tonight for the Mets.
Speaking of terrible ABs, this Dan Uggla thing is becoming a joke. FW is doing no one any favors by keeping him around. Just release him already and get to fixing one of the worst benches in baseball.
