Marcum’s 1-inning disaster comes 29 yrs after the Cards chased Rick Camp w/ 4 1st inn. runs in the clinching Game 3 of the ’82 NLCS #Braves

Actually, Camp needed just 12 pitches to get through the first, retiring Tom Herr, Oberkfell and Lonnie on infield grounders. Then, in the second, a single, walk, single, triple and another single ended Camp’s night and, effectively, the Braves’ season.

That rainout still sticks in my craw. If the situation had been reversed, they would have stayed far, far longer.
I second that Pepe. Knucksie had the Cardinals dead, and the umps stop play for a rain delay, even though the rain didn’t get heavy for another 30 minutes.
Hell, even Herzog thought it was peculiar move by the umps….

My thoughts exactly. Even God had it in for Knucksie.
Didn’t Knucksie also drive in the Braves’ run in the rainout?
I went to game 3. Tried to dull the pain at IHOP afterward and was informed the buttermilk pancake batter had soured. It was that kind of night.
