The following night, the Crime Dog homered in his Braves debut, helping the local nine battle back from a 5-0 deficit to improve their record to 54-41. They ended play 9 games behind the Giants in the NL West.

Glory days. Barry Bonds was the Braves personal bee-yotch in those days and we hauled the Giants down like a komodo lizard on a cormorant that summer.

I was working for Jacor/WGST/Braves Radio as a board op/producer at the time, but was off that night. We had a tetchy relationship with the Braves and Stan Kasten. Burning down the press box with a sterno fire started in our sales-weasel suite did not help endear us to the club any more, and the rights reverted to WSB after the following strike-shortened season.

I still have this Walter Victor print somewhere. Blauser and Lemke always seemed to have more fun than any other Braves.

That shot of Blauser pushing Lemke around in the shopping cart is also comedy gold.
