Open thread, 8/14, Braves vs. Tucker Ashfords
Tonight is fraught with trouble. The Pads have southpaw Clayton Richard on the mound, and he’s on a mini-roll, allowing just three runs in his last three starts spanning 21-1/3 IP. Lefties continue to be a menace to the Braves, and we have Dan Uggla to thank for that.
Acquired to provide balance to the Braves line-up, Uggla has been persistently limp against lefty hurlers, batting .213 this year against them — a .12 improvement from 2011. Hell, Paul Janish is more potent against southpaws.
Pretty much just what the doctor ordered. Huddy, as always, is our rock and our stopper.
