Open Thread, July 17, Bravos vs. Billie Jean King’s brothers
This has been the type of series that has too often tripped up the home team this season. They’re hot. Then they get real cold.
San Fran’s pitching makes for a difficult few days, regardless of when you catch them. Maybe the offense can keep it cooking. I suspect JJ will fare OK against the Giants’ tepid attack. This set followed by four against the Nats should be interesting. A winning record through these seven could serve as a nice springboard for the rest of the season.
We’ll have the regular lineup tonight: Bourn, Prado, Heyward, Chipper, Freeman, McCann, Uggla, Janish and JJ.
Is anyone else besides me excited about the return of the Melkman and Greg White?
I hope Cabrerra gets a resounding chorus of boos. The miserable ex-fatass.
I’ve got no beef with Blanco. He is what he is and he seems to have improved his game as his career has gone on, a professional who will end up with an MLB pension and great stories for his grandkids.
Cabrera was a complete puss, playing lackadaisically intermittently, further demotivated by not being one of Bobby’s Guys. He played at all times like he couldn’t wait to get the hell out of ATL. Reggie Sanders redux. I don’t want to see either of them beat us. But I quit predicting how this team would do before the break.
Did anyone hear Chip the other day say “good for him” when talking about Melky’s resurgence. Was the idiot even watching Melky’s fat ass loaf around the field in 2010?
Imagine a starting Atlanta Brave OF of Garret Anderson, Cabrera and Sanders. We would go 0-162!
I don’t know if he was one of Bobby’s guys or not but Cox sure as hell kept running him out there like he thought he’d eventually do something.
I thought Chip and Joe were saying good for Blanco. Hope so, anyway. Melky can go screw himself.
The comment I was referring to came Sunday. Chip is a dope.
Nothing worse than watching Bulky Cabrera chase a ground ball all the way to the wall because he was too fat to bend over and pick it up. He must have spent too much time at Abdullah the Butcher’s House of Ribs when he “played” here. Layin’ off the mac and cheese can do wonders for you.
