LaHair over Chipper, Bourn? Ben Sheets??

Whenever I see Tony LaRussa I’m reminded of Corky St.  Clair’s famous admonition:

Picking Bryan LaHair, a nice story who has cooled, over Chipper and Bourn is absurd. Chipper has played in 24 fewer games but has as many RBI as LaHair. With Starlin Castro on the team there was no need to pick a Cub. But the stubborn and smug LaRussa decided to make the fans choose Chipper. His competition in the fan vote includes Bryce Harper, so vote early and often. Nothing wrong with sentiment.

Bourn, on pace for more than 200 hits, deserves it on merit. Especially over LaHair.

Meanwhile, the Braves have signed Ben Sheets, who was injury-prone when he was healthy and in his 20s, to a minor league contract.

There are snubs every year, but not picking Chipper in his last season is shameful. Fuck you, Tony.

Kemp won’t play, so I have some hope for Heyward. I really think we merit more players than the Cubs.

Eight months into retirement, LaRussa comes back onto the stage, like some lameass James Brown wannabe, and kicks us all in the nuts one last time.

I’d rather chipper have the four days off. He in fact mentioned it last week. Granted, his numbers say that he should be on the team, I’d just rather him rest than anything else.

Fuck Tony LaRussa. He is the Godfather of Steroids. Has any manager profited more from his players’ cheating? Maybe he’ll invite McGwire to his HOF induction, since the Big Cheat won’t get there on his own.

  5. The Giants have three batters in the starting lineup. That is proof positive the All Star Game is not to be taken seriously.
