Open Thread, June 2, Bravos vs. John Boccabellas
Fast forwarding roughly my lifetime, though not quite, and we have a rematch of Minor v Strasburg. I keep saying Minor’s about to right himself. In virtually every start lately, the guy’s looked like Glavine for two or three innings, only to become Mark Redman the next couple innings. Who the hell knows what he’s going to do. One would guess he’s pitching for his roster spot. However, I doubt that will make much difference. If he’s going to be good, he’s going to be good. If he ain’t, he ain’t.
Minor’s turn gets skipped thanks to Friday’s rain-out. Instead we get a duel of aces, with Beachy taking on Strasburg, who’s not been beating any worlds of late. He’s failed to pitch past the fifth in any of his past three starts, and allowed four runs in two of them, including against our heroes.
We’ll get to see our new shortstop. And I’m looking forward to that.
