Hardly — check out Larry Wayne‘s gut. He must not be too concerned with securing his option year (which vests at 123 games).

When 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not. Hmmm?
chipper’s rockin’ the man boobs like dirty rhodes
How long do you think it will be before all of the people who think that Chipper is vial to the Braves’ chances in ’12 start calling for him to retire and let someone who really cares play third?
Sorry, “vital”….
Let’s hope that a month and a half in the warm Florida climate and daily workouts will have him dropping 10 lbs?
Oh, and shit:
http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-blog/2012/02/20/braves-hanson-bangs-head-in-one-car-accident/?cxntfid=blogs_atlanta_braves_blog
I see this photo, find out Huddy isn’t coming back until May (wasn’t sure why I didn’t know that) and then see the Hanson accident. Spring is not starting out very well.
Chipper might want to think twice this year before questioning one of his teammates’ durability or conditioning.
I’ll worry about it if he’s hitting a buck fifty in May. Andruw always reported looking pudgy, and then he’d play gold glove defense and hit 30 homers. Spring training is for getting in shape. Tony Gwynn always looked fat.
And if Chipper really didn’t care, he wouldn’t even be there. He dooesn’t have to report for another week.
From the twitter of Jayson Stark: Chipper Jones quote of the day – on his early-spring good health: Asked if he’s in midseason form he deadpanned, “I’m in mid-offseason form”
Luckily, he’s got 6 weeks to get in shape.
ol’ chipper been on the sofa restin’ that knee, and hittin’ the buffet line at the double dip ranch.
Looks like Chipper’s been living the High Life this offseason. I predict he’ll be ready come Opening Day.
He will be ready, but not as ready as he could be.
If Chipper didn’t have the extremely rare ability to hit big league pitching, he would be working at Bass Pro Shop. That picture is priceless!
This, I like, via DOB:
Among projected starting position players, only rookie shortstop Tyler Pastornicky and center fielder Michael Bourn hadn’t already reported by Monday, four days before non-catcher position players were due in.
Pastornicky is working out with backup shortstop Jack Wilson at Wilson’s house in California, where the Braves veteran has a full infield in his backyard.
Hopefully Wilson is able to give Pastornicky some good advice and get him ready for the big leagues. I figure as long as he can play steady at SS, any offensive production we can get from him is a bonus.
I like that Wilson is taking him under his wing. That has to be good for team chemistry out of the gate.
Does Chipper have a full infield in HIS backyard?
Somebody must have forgotten to inform Chipper that his off-season training should be geared toward the major leagues, not the over-50 men’s softball league.
Chipper’s man boobs are the least of our problems. Here’s Fredi’s intellect in mid-season form:
http://espn.go.com/mlb/
Jeez what a dumbass.
One can only hope that Fredi’s decisionmaking will improve. One can hope…..
As far as Chipper, he’s the victim of a bad picture. Of course, if you wear baggy shirt that has you resembling Kenny Powers, it’s you’re own damn fault. The rest of the pictures in the AJC gallery are more flattering…http://projects.ajc.com/gallery/view/sports/braves/braves-uni-020612/
Can someone provide me a good link to the Fredi story referenced above? I’ve been covering a high-profile murder trial this week and haven’t had a chance to keep up.
Fredi is the Sarah Palin of managers.
Just click over to ESPN and it will be under the photo accompanying the top story, titled, “Staying Brave”.
If Sarah Palin had a child with Chauncey Gardiner, it would be Fredi.
That is good, roadrunner. Very good.
I think CBF is right about the bad pic.
