10 years for Pujols!?!

That’s the Marlins’ latest offer for Pujols, who would be 42 at the end of the contract. Bad for the Fish in the long run, but next year …

That’s a superior lineup to ours if it comes to pass. Plus you get the feeling that Ozzie can’t wait to manage circles around Fredi the 54 times a year we play them…

That’s a tough lineup, but I get the feeling team chemistry will be an issue on the Fish. I don’t see Reyes and Ramirez co-existing well. And if Ramirez thinks Fredi was tough, he’s in for a rude awakening with Ozzie. Then, there is those God-awful unis. They should be fined for those.

Let them sign him him for 10 years. He wont be able to earn the last 5 and they will be back where they belong. New stadium novelty won’t last the duration of that contract and their best players will once again be ripe for plucking.

Fuck Florida, er, Miami. And fuck Albert Pujols. We will beat them.

  4. I’m sorry but if Albert leaves the Cards and goes to Miami, he’s an idiot. Granted a very, very wealthy idiot – but still.

  5. If I’m him the only place I’d consider, beyond St. Louis, is Texas. But the Rangers are much too smart to offer him 10 years.

  6. True that – Texas learned the hard way about that one (and with a younger ARod at that).

  7. If this happens, could the Braves send JJ to Miami for Gaby Sanchez or Logan Morrison to play LF?

  8. Wouldn’t do that for Gaby Sanchez (has he ever played LF)? Even if he has I’m not interested. He’s 28, hit .225 in the second half with little pop and has an ordinary .786 career OPS. Morrison, on the other hand …

Doubt he’d be available, either. Marlins are tilted heavily right and he’s still cheap.

The fact that none of the contracts they have (or intend to) have no trade clauses suggests we’re in for a fire sale sooner rather than later. This franchise needs to move or fold, as do the Rays.

Florida doesn’t support pro sports, at least since Bowden retired.

  10. Pujols to Anaheim. Didn’t see THAT coming. $254 million over 10 years. That’s a nice, long contract for a guy who is still questioned about his actual age…..
