Tigers interested in Lowe

Make it happen, FW.

If Detroit takes Lowe off our hands we owe Dave Dombrowski a beer. And a shot for giving us JJ.

I would take any warm body, just for salary relief.

There has also been talk that the Red Sox are interested in him. That there is more than one team out there makes me hopeful. If he can run off two or three good starts, we could be in business. Yes, any warm body will do.

Do it do it do it do it. Even a short term salary swap would be worth it if we got some clutch hits out of the deal.

Music to my ears…i am not that optimistic about the salary relief – I am not certain Liberty will let us backfill that salary – I just think Minor or Tehran could
    Give us better innings.

I’m told that no offers have been made yet, either by other teams for Lowe or by Braves for a bat. But interest in Lowe is there from Tigers, for certain, and perhaps at least one other team. Teams including Braves still kicking the tires, figuring things out. Could be another week before anything happens. But we’ll see. Sometimes offers get juiced up and things happen quicker than expected.

  6. You think we could get a back-up outfielder for him?

I wonder what kind of package the Tigers would be offering. We need offense but it’s not as if the Tigers have a lot of offense to give away; their hitting may be worse than the Braves, especially for an AL club. This could be a case of us giving up a starting pitcher (and salary) and we get a modest package of prospects.
