I thought the Braves liked bargains

Johnny Damon, Xavier Nady and Jermaine Dye — three players identified as potential offseason targets, could be had for a song. Are the Braves really this cheap?

  1. Garret Anderson.

  2. How is Glaus not Bargain shopping?

  3. i wish they could get both Damon and Dye. With those two at the corners and McClouth in center they could win it all and send Mr. Cox out in style (which I think should be the goal of the budget this year). If they could get only one then I would prefer Damon because he’s a proven clutch winner in the series. I’m not sold on any of the jokers they have in the outfield including Melky or Diaz. I’m needing more effort from the Braves here – these guys are a bunch of back-ups!

  4. Cheep, cheep, cheep, went the birdy. FW sounds like a used car salesman, spinning Glaus and the Vasquez deal like they were the best things since the landau top for your Cordoba. I fear that Cox is going to end his Braves career like it began, out of the playoffs.

  5. damn lowe. if only we could have traded him.

  6. that’s why it’s a crime that the mlb lets corporations own teams. we will never get better until that changes.

  7. NFL has it right — no corporate-owned teams. If you did allow it, at least reserve it to corporations headquartered in the town where the team plays. I’ve said it before and I’ll never be swayed: Bud is a disaster.

  8. What is wrens problem? Didn’t he try to trade for Ankiel? I just saw where the royals signed him for 3.2mil as a free agent why not go after ankiel instead some of these half dead has beens he has signed. I just don’t get it he signs the maimed and crippled but lets healthy productive players walk, folks it’s going to be a long hot summer but look on the bright side you don’t have to spend your money on the Braves. There are other ways to be entertained.
