A non-issue

Unless the Hall of Fame is blind and/or corrupt, Greg Maddux will be inducted as an Atlanta Brave. The only question is if he and Glavine will go in together. Mad Dog is a certain first-ballot HOF’er. Glavine should be, but with dolts like Jay Mariotti leaving their ballots blank, who knows.

I had no idea that the player was “consulted” but doesn’t actually get to choose. That sucks. It’s HIS career. He should have that right.

There is no way Tommy doesn’t go first ballot. Too many writers are wanting to put them in together.

  3. The Devil Rays allegedly gave Wade Boggs a several million dollar personal services contract in exchange for him agreeing to wear a D-Rays cap in to the hall- they’ve taken control since then.
There’s no way Glavine doesn’t make the first ballot. HOF voters are stupid, but not that stupid.

  4. Wasn’t Niekro the only 300-game winner who didn’t make it in on the first ballot? And that was only because some of the purist dimwits thought that because he won games without a great fastball, those 300 wins didn’t happen.
