The Braves are near a deal for Bainbridge native David Ross, a .222 lifetime hitter (almost .50 points higher than Corky’s career average). Ross, who will be 32, has some pop in his bat, clubbing 38 homers from 2006-07.
He’s a definite upgrade; then again, Ozzie Virgil would be an upgrade over Corky.
